Water

Water is a precious resource and is essential to the sustainability of our business and the communities in which we serve and operate. Not only is access to clean water vital for sanitation and other aspects of our manufacturing operations, but our suppliers also rely on sufficient access to quality water to produce milk.

This is why we are committed to using water resources in an economically, socially, and environmentally sustainable way and to implementing solutions to reduce water consumption through reusing and recycling. We are also continuously working towards improving our wastewater quality to protect biodiversity and ecosystems.

The completion of numerous network optimization initiatives helped to improve our performance significantly in FY25 with a reduction of 5% compared to our and we expect additional benefits to show in FY26. However, we recognize that additional work needs to be done. This is why we will continue to drive reduction and water saving efforts through our renewed 2030 Water target. 

Our new target will continue to drive capital investment and efforts to reduce the water intensity of our operations by 10% (against FY20 baseline) by 2030 for plants at high water risks.
